Brass skull with brass edging and fittings, tall crest with repoussé decoration (contemporary repair to the crest, and minor defects), black chenille, the front and back peaks and entire lower part of skull covered in panther skin (defective), fleur-de-lys side-bosses, brass chinscales of correct pattern but later fitting, (slightly defective, but most plates present), and interior headband (lining defective, no plume-holder)
