A Japanese sectional ivory okimono of a farmer and his son
Late Meiji Period
both figures carved wearing tied robes with incised decoration, the man holding a walking stick and pouch, the boy carrying a basket full of vegetables over his shoulder, standing on an oval base beside a tree stump and a further basket full of vegetables, inset signed red lacquer tablet to the base -- 8in. (20.2cm.) high, (minor damages).
