A Japanese ivory okimono of a giraffe with monkeys
Late Meiji Period
the giraffe carved standing four-square, its mouth wide open with two small monkeys clambering up its neck and a further monkey at the feet, on an oval base with incised signature to the underside -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) high; and an ivory model of a camel standing four-square with its head slightly raised -- 6in. (15.2cm.) high, (camel neck has been off re-glued).
