A pair of Japanese carved open clam shells

each carved to the interior with numerous figures at leisure on rockwork before foming waves, signed to underside -- 3¾in. (9.5cm.) diam., circular wooden stands; and a Chinese ivory standing figure of Shoulao holding a staff in one hand, a small bird holding a string of pearls hovering to one side of his head among smoke issuing from a peach held in his other hand, the bearded immortal wearing long drpaed robes incised and etailed with scattered cloud scrolls above faoming waves, early 19th Century -- 6in. (15.2cm.) high , wooden stand. (3)
