Lot Essay

One of the labels affixed to the reverse reads:

"343 ton barque built at Greenrock 1864 For the China Trade. Bought by Messers McGregor and Bayley in 1867, she sailed out of Hobart to many ports of the world. In 1894 she was converted to a Whaler and, by 1896 was the last of the fleet working out of Hobart. She was hulked in the Yarra, Melbourne."
