TWO MEISSEN FIGURE GROUPS EMBLEMATIC OF SEASONS
Late 19th century, blue crossed swords marks, various incised, impressed and painted numerals
The first modelled as two putti harvesters standing on either side of a plow, one as a grafter before a grape vine, the other displaying a wheat sheaf and leaning on a bag of grain; the second modelled in the round with four putti about a tree-stump, each holding their seasonal attribute, on gilt enriched rocaille-moulded bases
