A FINE AND RARE ENAMELLED TWO-COLOUR GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
QING DYNASTY, LATE 18TH CENTURY
The miniature flattened rounded bottle is carved through the opaque red glass overlay to the milky-white ground, with roundels on each side flanked by strips of bamboo on the sides, one roundel finely enamelled with birds-of-paradise on flowering prunus branches, and the other with cranes under a tree laden with peaches, the red glass footring encircling an iron-red Guyuexuan mark, stopper
