A rare ticket for a Civic Reception for "THE BEATLES", Friday, 10th July, 1964, the reverse signed and inscribed in black ballpoint pen Best Wishes, Bob Wooler, additionally signed in black ballpoint pen by Lionel Blair and in blue ballpoint pen Ray [McFall?] -- 3 3/8x5¼in. (8.5x13.3cm.)

Lot Essay

Friday 10th July, 1964 saw a triumphant return by the Beatles to their home town of Liverpool. Cheered on by thousands of Liverpudlians, they drove in a motorcade through the streets and a Civic Reception was held in their honour that evening at Liverpool Town Hall before the Northern Première of A Hard Day's Night at the Odeon Cinema.
