A Coalport bombé bough-pot
Circa 1810
The brown-ground painted en grisaille in the manner of Thomas Baxter with Neptune in a shell chariot drawn by horses and flanked by tritons, the sides with an urn and naval trophies beneath bare trees, between apricot and gilt spirally gadrooned rims, the angles with shell and chain ornameent on two foliage scroll and two splayed feet (one back foot repaired, gilt top rim rubbed, restored chip to back lefthand edge)
