AN EGYPTIAN BLUE GLAZED COMPOSITION SHABTI, FOR MUT-EN-APT
DYNASTY XXII (945-715 B.C.)
With central column of hieroglyphs, details in black, mounted, 4 in. (10 cm.) high; and a collection of Egyptian antiquities including a bronze Osiris figure, 3 7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) high; a painted wooden uraeus, 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) high, an uninscribed turquoise glazed shabti, 4 5/8 in. (11.8 cm.) high; a small pottery shabti with painted details, 2 7/8 in. (7.4 cm.) high; and a group of glazed composition amulets including a pale blue Osirian triad, two wadj-sceptres, a hippopotamus, a striding god, two djed-pillars, another in hardstone; a diorite wedjat-eye amulet and scarab, 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) long max., mainly Late Period/Ptolemaic period; a green glazed bundle-backed seal, the underside with hieroglyphs, Dynasty XX-XXII (1186-715 B.C.), 1½ in. (3.8 cm.) long; two Roman glass bracelets, 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) diam. max.; and a modern resin copy of a shabti, 7 7/8 in. (20 cm.) high(a lot)
Provenance
Item one: North Monastery, Our Lady's Mount, Cork. An accompanying note reads ..."authenticated by Liverpool Museum 19th August 1967".
