FOUR SASSANIAN-ISLAMIC SAPPHIRE AND GARNET GOLD RINGS
CIRCA 5TH-13TH CENTURY A.D.
Comprising one circular sapphire intaglio engraved with a frontally facing peacock, its tail fanned out behind; another with oval garnet intaglio engraved with an animal; another set with cabochon oval garnet inlay; and another with oval garnet inlay in an hexagonal gold box setting on a high bezel rising from a shouldered hoop, with engraved zigzag decoration
