A study collection of Vung Tau vases and bowls
Circa 1690
Comprising seven provincial grey-glazed baluster vases, each with thick rounded neck, heavily potted for storing food, oil and other liquids throughout the South-east Asian shipping routes, 18 cm. - 20 cm. high; a set of five blanc-de-chine bowls, with steep rounded sides rising from a parallel foot to a slightly flaring rim, 14.5 cm. diam; a set of ten provincial blue and white bowls, each centrally painted and around the exterior with characters, under a greyish glaze, 11.5 cm. - 12.5 cm. diam.; and three bowls with rounded sides, 16 cm. - 22. cm. diam., some damage or minor glaze deterioration (24)
