A verte-Imari armorial mounted dish
The porcelain circa 1715-20, the mount 20th Century
Painted and gilt with a large coat of arms for Phillipe, Duc D'Orleans, gilt copper mounts to rim and stemmed foot with foliate design, porcelain with rim section restuck and old damage.

Lot Essay

Made for Phillipe, Duc D'Orleans (1674-1723) and brother of Louis XIV, whose 1724 post mortem inventory refers to 300 or more pieces of Chinese porcelain, including a service with his coat-of-arms.
