The dial signed and movement signed and dated Cailloute à Paris en 1789
The ormolu with two-tone gilding, the circular white enamel dial signed Cailloute à Paris with Roman and Arabic chapters within a drum case surmounted by an urn hung with a fruiting and floral garland and supported by scrolls, atop a marble platform with central mask, further supported by fluted columns, on a stepped demilune base

Lot Essay

The maker of this clock is possibly Jean Caillouet, recorded in Paris on the rue St. Gervais Laurent in 1765 and the rue St. Martin in 1810.
