Lot Essay

A not dissimilar view to that in lot 53, although here the photographer has moved across the stone quarries to a closer entrance to the temple complex and the landscape has been removed entirely from this view. The remains of the Temple of Jupiter can be seen on its massive stone base filling the panoramic frame.
