Lot Essay

This photograph was printed by Erwin Welcher under the photographer's supervision, specifically for the The Museum of Modern Art's retrospective of Lange's work which was held in 1966. This was one of a handful of additional prints, identical to the ones that were exhibited, also printed by Welcher.
