A German wax-over composition shoulder-headed doll
with fixed blue glass eyes, elaborately plaited and curled fair mohair wig with original bow, the cloth body with wax over composition limbs, the legs with moulded, tasseled brown boots edged with gilt paper, in original bright blue wool short frock decorated with lace and pale pink ribbon --14½in. (37cm.) high, circa 1880 (damage to toes and slight cracking to face)
