A RARE .250 C.F. SEMI SMOOTH-BORE BACKLOCK HAMMER PISTOL RETAILED BY HOLLAND & HOLLAND, NO. 42494, CIRCA 1900
With blued tapering octagonal sighted barrel, the top flat engraved 'Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond St. London. Winners of all the Field Rifle Trials', scroll engraved action and rebounding lock (hammer retaining screw replaced), blued side-lever, chequered figured walnut butt, chequered forend, scroll engraved, blued and case-hardened mounts, and nearly all its original finish
