AN 1825 PATTERN ROYAL NAVY COMMISSIONED OFFICER'S STRAIGHT STIRRUP HILT SWORD BY DUDLEY
the 32in. long semi-blued steel blade with gilt etching comprising royal arms, crown and anchor and naval trophies, gilt brass hilt with etched fouled anchor, wire-bound ivory grip and short-maned lion's head pommel; together with a black leather scabbard with gilt brass fittings and frog loops, the chape signed DUDLEY Grand Parade PORTSMOUTH, total length -- 37¼in. (94.5cm.)
