"The first and youngest of 11 classic vintages of Romanée-Conti: medium-pale, lively looking, open yellow-amber rim; sweet, rich, lovely fragrance, pure mature 'beetroot' varietal bouquet that opened up in the glass, soft fruit, whiff of raspberry,; also sweet on the palate, full-bodied (yet a moderate 13 alcohol), interesting texture, peppery acidity and an upturned, almost spritz, finish.
