Rectangular box, the six black lacquer panels decorated in gold, silver and red lacquer and inlaid with silver, the lid depicting a ship observed by two fisherboys ashore, the sides lacquered with landscape views, the base with birds perched on branches, mounted in a wavy reeded gold cagework with incorporated slightly flaring waved thumbpiece
