AN EGYPTIAN PAINTED LIMESTONE RELIEF
New Kingdom, Ramesside Period, Dynasty XIX-XX,
1307-1070 B.C.
Sculpted in sunk relief with a goddess, her head, face and shoulders bearing traces of red, yellow and white pigments, her tripartite wig surmounted by a solar disk and framed by cow horns, from which is suspended a sacred cobra, a single column of hieroglyphs in the field to the left reading, "...[Isis], the great, the divine mother..."
