A LATE ROMAN MARBLE MOSAIC PANEL
Circa 3rd-4th Century A.D.
Composed of black, red, yellow and green tesserae on a white ground, with a standing bird in profile to the right beside a sprig within a round medallion bordered by a black band and a band of red and white triangles, the outer layers of the border octagonal, the innermost yellow with black dots, then striated on four sides and guilloche on four sides, with triangles in each corner, a pelta in the center of two, a disk in the center of the other two
