TWO CHINESE-EXPORT BRASS-MOUNTED BLACK LEATHER TRUNKS

Each studded overall, the rectangular hinged top enclosing a campher interior on the smaller chest and a paper-lined interior on the larger trunk, the sides with carrying handles, the smaller trunk inscribed in ink in a 19th century hand 'JAMES BRODIE', and inscribed in pencil 'J.BRODIE', the lock of the larger trunk stamped 'PATENT' below a crown
The smaller trunk 13in. (33cm.) high, 32in. (81cm.) wide, 16in. (40.5cm.) deep; the larger trunk 14in. (35.5cm.) high, 31in. (79cm.) wide, 18½in. (47cm.) deep
