Circa 1874, various impressed, incised and stamped marks, decorator's marks to reverses, three inscribed H.S. MARKS to front bottom right corners
Based on scenes from William Shakespeare's 'As You Like It', and depicting figures in Medieval dress, the first with a young child being held by his grandmother while his mother and father look on under a blossoming tree; the second depicting the child in a summer garden overlooked by his parents; the third depicting the young boy leaving for school; the fourth depicting the adolescent composing music before a building; the fifth depicting the grown man at dispute over a game of cards; the sixth depicting the mature man being petitioned by beggars; the seventh depicting the old man wooing a much younger woman (some very minor surface scratching and rubbing to gilding), wooden frames
