A Meissen Hausmalerei squat baluster teapot and cover
Circa 1728, the decoration slightly later
With gilt bird's head and foliage spout and scroll handle, decorated at Augsburg in the Aufenwerth workshop with grisaille panels of a cowhead beating his cow with a stick and surrounded by a goat, donkey, sheep and a dog, the reverse with a similar scene of a shepherd and shepherdess with cattle and sheep, flanked by elaborate gilt strapwork and dot ornament (gilded rim chip to cover, some minute wear to edge of handle and finial)
