A Continental porcelain gilt-metal-mounted two-handled vase
Circa 1800, probably Berlin or Vienna
With richly-gilt double serpent handles, their tails entwined, the urn-shaped body painted with a loose bouquet of garden flowers including irises, roses and lilac, a similar bouquet to the reverse, the neck decorated in raised gilding with scrolling ornament, the lower section painted en grisaille with a band of stiff leaves and flowers, the circular foot similarly decorated, on gilt-metal-mounted black marble plinth and square base (repaired where lower section meets foot with slight associated cracks, one serpent restored)
