the first, an effigy pipe, with a slightly curving shaft in the shape of a walrus, each side engraved with Russian lettering above a submerged whale, with inset bowl of cylindrical form decorated with small sea mammal, possibly a seal, at the prow; the second, a tusk, with a pair of carved whales on one end, engraved scenes of Arctic life on the other
Length: the first, 10 in. (25.4 cm.); the second, 14½ in. (36.6 cm.) (2)
