Signed Katsuie Saku, Muromachi-Momoyama Period (Late 16th Century)
Blade honzukuri, iorimune, toriizori with chu-kissaki, forging pattern itame, tempered edge gunome with choji of nie, midare-boshi, tang ubu, file marks katte-sagari with one hole, nagasa 28¾in. (73cm.), in black lacquer scabbard, the hilt white sharkskin covered in blue, shibuichi fuchi-kashira of landscape signed Takase Eizui with a kao, pair of menuki of chickens, iron tsuba decorated with a cock on a roof, overall length 40¾in. (103.5cm.)
