Mostly carved from a single piece of incised and stained ivory and depicting a woman in late-Edo period dress and coiffure holding up a young boy who teases a chin [Pekinese] dog with a puppet suspended from his left hand, a box with a spray of blossom at the woman's feet, the base signed in cursive characters on an oval plaque Hidemasa
