Lot Essay

During this period, many of the designs of foreign scenes were rather loosely linked with reality, as the main building here is clearly Frederiksberg Castle in Denmark. Another impression is illustrated in Yokohama Kenritsu Hakubutsukan [Yokohama Prefectural Museum], Yokohama ukiyo-e (Yokohama, 1979), p. 356.
