A Continental white biscuit porcelain figure of a harvester
Late 18th Century, most probably Buen Retiro
After the Vincennes original by Blondeau, with a headscarf tied under her chin, holding up her apron with her left hand and securing a large sheaf of corn with her right hand, standing before another large sheaf of corn and a rock on a shaped square rockwork base (chipping to sheaves of corn, extensive firing cracks and firing fault to hem of skirt at front)

Lot Essay

The Vincennes original, La Moissonneuse, was first modelled in 1752 by Blondeau after Boucher, and an example is illustrated by Émile Bourgeois and Geo. Lechevallier-Chevignard in Le Biscuit de Sèvres (n.d.), pl. C4, no. 437.
