A Cantonese ivory two-division container
19th Century
of rectangular form, the feet with lion-head terminals, each side with carved catouches of figures in garden scenes within pierced panels depicting lotus and foliage, the central division with two angels either side of an openwork section forming the handle -- 8in. (20.3cm.) wide, (re-glued sections).
