A pair of cinnabar lacquer peach boxes and covers
18th/19th century
carved with three scholars conversing in a landscape attended by a young servant carrying refreshments and food across his shoulder, and a waiting fisherman on a sampan, all within a foliate and double peach border, the sides carved with large lotus and leaf sprays, all reserved on diaper grounds -- 11½ in. (29 cm.) wide (minor wear)
