A Böttger Kakiemon oviform vase
The porcelain circa 1718, the Dutch decoration 1720's
Moulded with radiating puce and gilt acanthus leaves below the short neck, the body painted in iron-red, blue, turquoise, black and enriched with gilding, with a tiger chasing a flying insect, an exotic bird perched in the branches of a pine and prunus tree by bound hedges and another exotic bird in a flowering peony tree, the lower part moulded with up-turned iron-red and gilt acanthus leaves, the footrim moulded with red and gilt gadroons (minute fritting to footrim, slight wear to brown line upper rim, very slight wear to gilding)
