Two Meissen miniature models of parrots
Circa 1730
Modelled with their heads turned slightly to the right, each with incised brown beaks and yellow and red eyes, one with a mottled puce back, a blue breast, green wings and a black tail, the other with a blue back, black breast, mottled puce wings and an iron-red, green and yellow tail, each perched on brown logs on waisted moulded octagonal bases enriched with gilt lines and iron-red scroll borders (both broken through legs and restored, the first with slight restoration to tip of beak, the second probably broken through body)
