A pair of Meissen ormolu-mounted figures of pilgrims
Circa 1750, blue crossed swords marks at back, the French ormolu mounts contemporary
Modelled by J.J. Kändler and P. Reinicke, standing, wearing traditional dress, he with a staff over his shoulder carrying a flask, his black hat with shells under his arm, yellow flowered frock-coat with broad black collar, mauve breeches with puce ribbons and puce sandals, she holding a hoe, a white hat with shells, black collar with shells, green bodice, mauve-lined flowered underskirt, pale-yellow underskirt and brown sandals, each on scroll-moulded bases set in ormolu pierced scroll bases applied with foliage and mounted with porcelain flowers (he with restored staff, she with restored hoe, minor chipping)
