Lot Essay

The present drawing comes from the same album - it is of the same size and technique - as a drawing from the Pierre de Charmant Collection sold at Christie's, Paris, 21 March 2002, lot 16. Two further drawings of the same size are in the Louvre (C. Monbeig-Goguel, Vasari et son temps, Paris, 1972, nos. 85 and 89).
