Both 19th Century in 16th-Century style
The first of characteristic form, the blade etched with strapwork and foliage along much of its length, and with a gold-washed panel enclosing, on one face, an eagle, and on the other, a coat-of-arms, etched and gilt flat downcurved quillons, bone hilt with horizontal bands of brass, and plain domed iron pommel-cap; the second with straight tapering double-edged blade (surface pitted) inlaid on one side with a silver cross surmounted by a heart, downsloping silver-plated iron quillons swelling at the tips, wire-bound grip, and silver-plated iron wheel pommel incised on each side with a cross of St. Andrew
