TWO CUP-HILT RAPIERS
In Spanish late-17th Century style
The first with long slender blade of flattened diamond section, with central fuller at the forte and a small ricasso, the iron hilt comprising cup embossed in relief with a central multi-petalled flower encircled by a row of cinqfoils, long straight quillons, fig-shaped pommel, and wire-bound wooden grip (the wire defective); the second with sharply-pointed blade of flattened diamond section and very long fluted ricasso, the iron hilt comprising cup (dented and cracked) etched with conventional foliage, long straight quillons, compressed pommel, and wire-bound wooden grip
