The first with London silver hallmarks for 1748, the second mid-18th Century
The first with tapering single-edged blade double-edged towards the point, with a narrow fuller bordering the back on each face, and a ricasso, the hilt comprising a spirally gadrooned scallop-shaped downbent shell, short rear quillon with lobed end, quillon-block, slender knuckle-guard and cap-pommel, all en suite with the shell, and cowhorn grip with reeded silver ferrule at the bottom, silversmith's mark PB; the second of similar form, the hilt decorated in relief with figures, and with fluted horn grip
