Circa 1825-50
With steeply-curved plain fullered blade (some discolouration and pitting), silver-plated mameluke hilt with cast decoration to crosspiece and ornate finials to quillons, one-piece horn grip, one face now mounted with the Russian cross in white-metal, and cast silver-plated brass pommel engraved with 'NI' cypher (for Czar Nicholas I) in cyrillic script, in its black leather scabbard with ornate cast ring-bands and chape bearing engraved decoration
