The case with foliate mouldings and stippled decoration, with bevelled front glass and silvered sight ring to the hatchwork engraved silvered dial with Roman chapter ring, blued steel hands with axe-head hour, subsidiary rings above for slow/fast and chime/silent, signed on a reserve between KLAFTENBERGER,/157, REGENT STREET/LONDON., the eight day triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, quarter chiming on eight nested bells and with hour strike on gong, the back plate with repeat signature -- 16¾in. (42.5cm.) high
