Model Of The Clipper Ship SUNBEAM

A very fine scratch built model with the hull built up in plank on frame construction from mahogany. The hull planking is held in place with small nails, and the hull is finished with a varnish finish. The deck is made up from eight separate pieces of mahogany which has been scored to represent planking. The center section of the deck is removeable. The deck of the model is fitted with a number of deck fixtures and fittings which include: bollards and windlasses (modeled in brass), deck hatches, companionways, skylights, anchors, ships wheel, ship's boats on davits, bilge pump, and other details. The model is fitted with three masts, also of mahogany, and rigged with standing and running rigging. The model is displayed on a pair of brass pedestals, and is displayed in a glass case with a mahogany base and trim.
