A SET OF EIGHT REGENCY EBONISED AND PARCEL-GILT TUB BERGERES
Early 19th century
Decorated overall with white lines and gold banding, each with a curved buttoned padded back and seat covered in pale coral rough silk, the sides with foliage-clasped baluster supports, above a plain apron, on square tapering legs, redecorated and originally caned, two chairs stamped 'G' three times, one chair stamped 'FF' (8)

Supplied to Edmund Pollexfen Bastard, Esq. (1784-1835) for Kitley, Devonshire and thence by descent to Mrs. John Bastard, Kitley, sold Christie's house sale, 19-20 October 1988, lots 801-802
