The case with brass handle to bell top, pineapple finials, with two glazed panels to the sides, the front door with moulded frame and floral quarterfrets, the dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, cut and blued steel hands, matted centre signed R.d Young/London, on a recessed silvered plaque and with square date aperture below, the eight day five pillar movement with twin gut fusees and knife-edge verge escapement, with rack strike on bell, formerly with trip repeat, the backplate engraved with a chinoiserie pagoda and musicals trophees
