Large 4° (317 x 252mm.). 31 plates and maps comprising 6 maps, 5 lithographed, one of these printed in 2 colours, one folding, engraved and handcoloured, 25 plates of which 3 colour-printed mezzotints with touches of handcolouring, 6 handcoloured lithographs, 16 uncoloured engravings. (Some spotting.) Original dark blue cloth, spine blocked in gilt (neat repairs to spine, inner hinges repaired). Large paper copy of the first edition, without the supplementary 'Appendix' volume. (Tears and creases to folding maps.) Contemporary calf (neatly rebacked to style).
