Maker's mark GW in oval, Germany, circa 1730, also struck with a crown
On a plain circular spreading foot, the cup inset with three 16th Century Prussian coins, chased and embossed with scrolls and foliage against a matted ground, detachable domed cover with a chased and embossed band of tassels and scrolls against a matted ground, knob finial, inside gilding, marked on cup
