Lot Essay

These panels were originally painted for 'Coopers', a small Georgian mansion in Chiselhurst Park, Kent.
In 1946, Ernest Greenwood devised a series of biblical panels to decorate one of the rooms. In the early 1970's the local Education authority redeveloped the mansion and removed the panels. The panels on offer form part of that series.
