A Large Qur'an, Probably Shiraz, Mid 16th century
Manuscript on paper, 311ff. with 12ll. of strong black naskh, gold roundels between verses, punctuation in red, sura headings in white on illuminated panels, similarly illuminated marginal medallions marking verse divisions, three full illuminated bifolios at the beginning, plus three illuminated bifolios at end of Qur'an with prayers and falnameh, later black and gold binding -- Folio 32.3 x 23.3cm.
